Structure and Specifications

This series of equipment is specifically designed for mass production of decorative coatings, suitable for the surface finishing and visual enhancement of 3C product housings, eyeglass frames, sanitary fittings, faucets, shower heads, and other metal products. The system adopts a vertical top-opening structure that provides a spacious operating area, enabling convenient loading and unloading of multiple workpieces and facilitating routine maintenance.

The vacuum chamber diameter ranges from Φ1500 to Φ2100 mm, with a height between 1200 and 2100 mm, forming a medium-to-large chamber configuration. It can accommodate multiple medium and large workpieces simultaneously, meeting the high-volume production requirements of decorative coating applications.

Arc Source and Process Configuration
The system employs a multi-arc source configuration, with each cathodic arc source measuring Φ100 × 40 mm. The number of arc sources can be customized according to chamber size and specific process requirements. These evenly distributed arc sources generate a high-density plasma field throughout the coating area, ensuring stable discharge, uniform film thickness, and excellent color consistency across all workpieces.

By adjusting arc current, substrate bias voltage, and reactive gas ratios, the operator can flexibly control coating color tone, gloss, and film density, achieving precise tuning of decorative effects.

Vacuum and Control System
The system is equipped with a high-performance vacuum pumping unit capable of achieving a high vacuum within a short period and maintaining stable vacuum conditions throughout the deposition process, effectively preventing oxidation and contamination.

The fully automated control platform allows precise setting of key parameters including arc power, gas flow rate, substrate bias voltage, and deposition duration. It provides real-time monitoring and automatic data logging, with multi-recipe storage capability to ensure consistent color and traceable quality across production batches.

Performance Parameters

  • Stable and consistent film color with high gloss

  • Adjustable coating thickness: 0.3–1.5 μm

  • Strong adhesion with excellent corrosion and wear resistance

  • Dense, smooth surface with outstanding oxidation resistance

Depositable Materials and Colors
The system supports a wide range of metal target materials such as titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), chromium (Cr), stainless steel (SUS), and titanium-aluminum (TiAl). Through reactive deposition with nitrogen, carbon, or oxygen gases, various decorative compound coatings can be formed, including TiN, ZrN, CrN, TiCN, and TiAlN.

Typical achievable coating colors include gold, rose gold, champagne, gunmetal black, coffee, bronze, and titanium gray. The coatings exhibit pure color tone, bright metallic luster, and high durability.

Application Scope
The DH medium-sized decorative coating system is widely used in the surface finishing of decorative metal components, including:

  • 3C product housings (mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc.)

  • Eyeglass frames, jewelry, and watch components

  • Sanitary hardware (faucets, shower heads, hangers, and fittings)

  • Decorative architectural hardware and home appliance panels

With its high deposition efficiency, excellent coating uniformity, and precise color control, this multi-arc vacuum coating system provides an ideal solution for high-end decorative coating production. It produces metallic films that combine aesthetics, wear resistance, and corrosion protection—serving as a key surface engineering technology in 3C, home décor, architectural, and precision manufacturing industries.
